Paul the Apostle

Paul amazes me in so many ways. His life for Christ is astonishing and something I think everyone should strive for. To start with he was born in Tarsus, so he wrote in Greek, and Christianity basically begins with Paul. Paul Paul is attributed with about 13 letters, 7 undisputed and 6 disputed. Some of theses letters were written in prison, Philippians and Philemon. In today’s society Paul would not be seen as attractive at all. His description is given in Acts of Paul and Thecla, which is a  text from the 2nd Century A.D., by a man named Onesiphorus. Onesiphorus saw Paul coming and described him as a man short in stature, bald, eyebrows meeting, nose hooked, good state of body, and with crooked legs. The reason I like Paul so much is he identified himself as a servant or slave. He was a slave of Jesus Christ. Now, back to the letters. Why are they disputed? Well for example, in Romans chapter 16 it says, “I Tertius, who wrote this letter, greet you in the Lord.” Who is Tertius in this passage? As it was explained to me Tertius is a scribe who wrote like he knew Paul well. He was writing in place of Paul. That is the best explanation for why this letter is one of the disputed letters. But Paul, to me, seemed to be a great man who loved Jesus passionately. He was thrown in jail proclaiming what he believed and I admire that. Even behind prison bars Paul continued to write letters. Way to go Paul.
